Are you using Microsoft Loop? If not, you are missing out big time. Loop can greatly save you and your team a lot of time at work. Watch this video and see how you can maximize your team’s efficiency with Microsoft Loop. Here are six types of Loop components.

I am using the Microsoft Loop web-based app because web apps usually have the latest functions or features. To open a Loop component is very simple. Just click the plus button, or if you prefer using the keyboard, simply type a forward slash (/). You can then scroll down and select a table, or if you want to add a callout, type “c” and select “Callout” before pressing enter. A callout allows you to highlight important messages for your team.

Another useful component is the table. Similar to an Excel table, you can add columns and rows and customize the column type to be a number, percentage, date, etc. I will do a separate video on tables because it is one of the most useful components in Microsoft Loop. To add more columns or rows, just click the appropriate option.

If you want to create a checklist or task list, you can easily do that. Type “T” followed by your task items, and you can mark them as complete. To add more components, simply use backspace and type a forward slash. You can also create bullet lists, numbered lists, and more. For instance, to switch to a bullet list, backspace and type the forward slash, then select “Bullet List.”

You can also add dividers to separate sections. If you are a coder, you can add code blocks and even specify languages like CSS. This is helpful for organizing and displaying code snippets. Another essential part is the text types. You can switch between body text and different heading levels. For example, right-click on a section, choose “Heading 2,” and it will format it accordingly.

Microsoft Loop also has a built-in Table of Contents feature. Simply add it, and it will auto-generate links based on your headings. You can navigate to any section by clicking on the corresponding link. The Table of Contents updates automatically if you make changes. You can also rearrange sections by dragging them, which will update the links instantly.

One of the most useful templates is the task list. If you frequently share task lists with your team, this template is a great starting point. Simply add your tasks, and it is automatically formatted for you. Another favorite of mine is the Kanban board. This allows you to organize tasks by status, and you can drag and drop cards to update their progress.

Microsoft Loop also supports voting tables, which are great for team decision-making. You can share these tables with your team members, allowing them to vote in real time. To share a specific component like a voting table, highlight it, click “Create Loop Component,” and then share the link. This allows you to give access to a particular section without sharing the entire document.

In terms of communication, you can mention team members using the “@” symbol. You can also upload images, record videos, and even perform screen recordings directly within Loop. Additionally, Microsoft Loop integrates with other apps like Microsoft Planner and Trello. If you are tracking projects, you can insert a Planner board and manage everything within Loop.

If you are new to Microsoft Loop, start with the basic components and gradually explore advanced features like the Kanban board and Planner integration. For more details on Microsoft Planner, check out my previous video. I hope this guide gives you an overview of Microsoft Loop and its powerful features. If you have questions, leave them in the comment section, and I will do my best to answer them.
